Peter and Elita's wedding at Beckenridge Vineyard in Dallas, Oregon this weekend was one I won't soon forget. Their families and friends were fantastic to work with and so much fun that by the end of the night both Scott, myself, and Alesia felt like part of the family!
HOW DID THE COUPLE MEET?
Peter and Elita met on the gorgeous coast of Southern Mexico in the state of Oaxaca while Peter was studying Spanish in a school where Elita just happened to be a Spanish teacher.
WHEN DID THE "SPARK" HAPPEN?
An initial spark of interest grew through their time spent together on sun-drenched beaches, in humid classrooms, and under tropical rainstorms. Upon returning to Mexico after Christmas in the States, Peter asked Elita to be his girlfriend at sunset on the same beach where they had danced together under the Mexican moonlight weeks before. A year later, as they looked out over the Pacific Ocean once again, this time through an Oregon sunset, he asked her to be his wife. The answer, in both cases, was exactly what Peter had hoped to hear. Their story to date has been far from traditional, but they wouldn't have it any other way and have loved every second of the journey. They've enjoyed galloping on horseback to hidden Mexican hot springs, feared for their lives in the aftermath of Peruvian riots, and ambled aimlessly through Ecuadorian mountain villages. Now, they're excited for the next step of their adventure together!
Elita and Peter define fun-loving, adventurous, outdoorsy couples in love and this is everything I hope for when I photograph couples. I wish for laughter and joy and down to earth brides with big hearts for the people in their lives. This is Elita and Peter to a T!
We were outstandingly lucky to have a beautiful and sunny wintry engagement session at Spring Valley State Park in Salem, Oregon and their wedding was even more perfect!
BEFORE THE CEREMONY
Special Note to the Couple
